Michiel and Rose’s wedding was so intensely special. Everything came together on this unforgettable day. A perfect mix of sublime styling, a beautiful ceremony, emotional and funny speeches, lovely wedding guests and a crazy party!
The wedding took place at the remote location VRIJ in Culemborg. With all the guests and suppliers we were in our own wedding bubble all day long. The love between Michiel and Rose was clearly celebrated here that day.
A touch of Italy in Culemborg
The day started quietly. A nice September sun dew on the grass. This is where it happened today. While Michiel and Rose were getting ready for the big day, was the ceremony styling being prepered.

Slowly but surely, all the wedding guests trickled in. We chatted and drank a cup of coffee. Waiting for the big moment.

The ceremony
The ceremony took place between the trees and that gave a wonderfully cozy feeling. The wedding official told a nice personal story about Michiel, Rose and their loved ones. After Michiel and Rose said their heartwarming vows to each other, their sweet daughter Madée came to bring the rings. With the help of the wedding official, although that was not actually the intention. The plan was for Madée to be driven forward in a big toy car, but that plan ended in tears and a loud scream from poor Madée ;’)
Have a drink!
After the ceremony, all guests moved to the location for drinks, accompanied by a Dixieland orchestra. With the sound of the orchestra we all imagined ourselves in the 1920s. From the 20th century 😉
The glass was raised and this was the prelude to a pleasant evening in Italian atmospheres. The dinner took place outside next to the main hall of VRIJ. The most delicious food was enjoyed throughout the evening at the long tables. With the sinking sun and a lovely summer evening temperature, we all imagined ourselves in Tuscany. A touch of Italy in Culemborg!
Memorable speeches
The extensive dinner was graced by beautiful speeches. After Michiels’ mother kicked off after the appetizer, the witnesses and Michiels’ uncle also spoke. I have never heard such beautiful, sincere and moving speeches before. Straight from the heart, emotionally and sometimes with a wink.
Not a standard movie
The speeches are therefore a common thread through this film. Not a standard chronological story of the wedding day, but a real story in which the beautiful (and at times crazy) characters of Michiel & Rose also clearly emerge. Exactly the vibe of them and of the day. Tuscan, classic, but also very loose and modern. This mix is also clearly reflected in the structure of the story.
Expect a film that takes you along: Italian atmospheres, up-tempo feel-good edits, a big wink here and there, romance, happy and sad emotions and a festive conclusion, framed with beautiful speeches and vows.
This was honestly one of the best weddings this year. An unforgettable day with a great party as icing on the cake!
